Advanced Measurement Principle

The operation of this ultrasonic flow meter is based on the time-of-flight principle. When an ultrasonic beam propagates through a flowing liquid, the flow causes a slight change in the propagation time.

The change in propagation time is directly proportional to the flow velocity of the liquid. At zero flow, the time for two sensors to transmit and receive sound waves is identical, while during flow, the upstream transmission time exceeds the downstream time.
